An exhibition around the topic of Still Life in the digital era.
In the last decades of the 21st and 20th centuries, Still Life expanded beyond the boundary of a frame. In the wake of the computer age and the rise of digital tools for depiction and art making, artists explored this traditional genre from different angles and changed the nature and definition of still life. While still representing inanimate, commonplace objects, either natural or man-made, the mediums used for creation include found objects, photography, video, sound, digital media, and even olfactory experience. Nature Morte explores still life under the influence of new media in art making and showcases the traditional characteristics (in form and structure) of this genre alongside a deeper analysis of our contemporary life.
