Elisa Bertaglia (b. 1983, Rovigo, IT. Lives and works in Brooklyn, NY)

Elisa Bertaglia obtained an MFA in Painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, Italy in 2009, after receiving her BFA in Painting from the same institution in 2006. In 2025, she furthered her professional development by undertaking Basics and Challenges with Katie Bosley Sabin at the Office for the Arts, Harvard University, and by participating in the Community Ceramics Program at the Teachers College, Columbia University.

Elisa Bertaglia presented her third solo exhibition The Rest at SARAHCROWN, New York, and a two-person exhibition at the Institute for Classical Architecture and Art, New York (2025). In 2024, her work was featured at Kiaf Seoul, South Korea, alongside exhibitions such as Curses, Spells and Other Magics at Martina Corbetta Gallery in Giussano IT, curated by Gianluca Ranzi, and Fastentuch at San Peter am Perlach, Augsburg (DE), curated by Martin Ziegelmayr. In 2023, she presented her second solo show with SARAHCROWN, titled A Dance, and and in Les Simulacres at Martina Corbetta Gallery, curated by Rossella Farinotti, as well as presenting work at Residency Unlimited in Brooklyn (NY) and the Fattori Museum in Livorno (IT).

Bertaglia has exhibited internationally in galleries, museums, and institutions since 2008, including Palazzo Madama, Turin; the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Saitama; the Bronx Museum, NY; the Guggenheim Museum, Venice; and the Borges Cultural Center, Buenos Aires. Elisa Bertaglia has undertaken numerous international residencies that have contributed to the development of her practice across diverse contexts, including the Institute for Classical Architecture and Art (ICAA), New York (2025); Residency Unlimited, Brooklyn (2023); Kunstraum LLC (2022); ESKFF residency at MANA Contemporary, Jersey City (2016); Officine Saffi, Milan (2017); Atipografia, Arzignano (2015), curated by Petra Cason and Elena Dal Molin; Casa Falconieri, Serdiana (2015); Progetto Borca E ultimo venne il Bosco, former ENI Village, Borca di Cadore (2014); and Dolomiti Contemporanee, Nuovo Spazio Museum, Casso (2013), just to name a few.
